Pathfinders & Adventurers Club: Pathfinders is a worldwide organization of young people sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, though young people of any religious persuasion, or none at all, are welcome and encouraged to join the organization. For those who are familiar with it, “Pathfindering” conjures up images of marching, camping, curious hobbies, bugs and bats. Enlarging their windows on the world and building a relationship with God are the dual objectives of this club, which is designed for older children ages 10-15. The Adventurer Club is designed to strengthen parent-child relationships for younger kids ages 6-9 by providing specialized activities tuned into the psychological needs of this age group while simultaneously giving parents opportunities for them to engage with their children and enjoying special activities with them that help connect the family to Jesus and make Him their best friend. Under the leadership of Director Laura Hoffman and Pastor Gustavo Parada, these clubs allow our children to be more active in their homes, in their church, and in their community.
Women's Ministry: The objective of Women's Ministries is to help the women of the church experience Jesus Christ in a personal, life-changing relationship. When Jesus calls us into a relationship with Him, He also calls us to ministry -- some type of service to others. As women become actively involved in ministry, the entire church is blessed. We call ourselves "WINGS", which stands for Women IN God's Service. Under the leadership of Deanna Fine and Dawn Wadsworth, we meet on the fourth Sabbath of every month, following the worship service. Come join us!
Upper Room Fellowship Group: The Upper Room Friday Night Bible Study is a fantastic way to begin the Sabbath! It is held at the home of Gary & Patty Riley or the home of Pastor Jason & Ashley Johnson (check weekly for location!). There is always great food, fun, and fellowship as well as an in-depth study of God’s Holy Word. It began as an outreach for our Young Adults, but EVERYONE is welcome!
Hispanic Ministry: Missionaries Miguel Bernedo, Johnatan Marrufo, Rafael Calla, and Jorge "Andy" Becerra, have come to our church all the way from Peru over the past 2 years. Miguel & Johnatan returned to Peru after one year of service to our church, and to make way for Rafael & Andy to continue service to God. After six months, Andy answered the call to carry on his mission in other parts of West Virginia, and Miguel has returned to Charleston to continue the work with Rafael. They are reaching out to this city's Hispanic community through Bible studies, small groups, soccer club, Hispanic festivals, and other get-togethers to spread the gospel of Jesus. **UPDATE** As of August 2017, all of our missionaries have either returned to Peru or have been assigned to other areas of West Virginia. Our Hispani Ministy continues under the leadership of Pastor Gustavo Parada. In addition to the Bibles studies and other forms of reaching out, Pr. Gustavo has started Worship services in Spanish every 2nd & 4th Sabbath at 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome
Bible Study/Prayer Meeting: Every Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm, we gather in one of the classrooms of the church to pray for each other and our community, and to study God's word. Come join us!
Fellowship Dinner: Join us every 1st & 3rd Sabbath for a potluck Fellowship Dinner after the worship service. The food is as wonderful as the company!
Music Ministry: Here at Boulevard Seventh-day Adventist Church, we are privileged to have so many members who have been blessed with amazing musical gifts to enhance our praises and worship service. Be sure to check out our Photo Gallery to see our many musical artists! Psalm 98:4 "Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!"
