4 ways you can help
By Pastor Jason Johnson
As we all know we have Evangelistic Series starting, and as you can imagine there are many areas that need your help. I am sure that each of you have had the question “What can I do?”. Everything we do in our church needs TMI (Total Member Involvement). Without TMI nothing would get done, so I would like to share with you 4 ways you can help.
If you do nothing else, one of the most important things that we all can do is to pray for not just our Meetings, but also for the people that will be coming to the meetings. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV) that we need to “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” We need to be in constant prayer for those coming and attending the meetings. The devil doesn’t like that we are holding these meetings and will do everything in his power to ruin these meetings. Mark 11:24 (NKJV) tells us, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
So, let us pray, ask and believe.
Attend The Meetings
Another thing you can do while you are praying for the meetings is to Attend the Meetings. Hebrews 10:25 (ESV) says to, “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” By attending the meetings, we are encouraging not just our speaker but also each other and those new faces attending. Time is short, and we must be about our Fathers business. So please attend.
Bring A Friend
As we both pray for and attend the meetings we need to befriend those coming to the meetings. One of the best example of this is from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It says in The Book Ministry of Healing Pg. 143, “Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, “Follow Me.”
What an example. Christ wants us to pray, attend the meetings and make friends.
Be A Friend
And finally, we all need to bring a friend. If we all brought just one, imagine how full the meetings would be, twice as full and Church. We all have friends that need to know the truth. And in 1 John 3:17 (ESV) it says, “If anyone has the world's goods (or what the world needs) and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?” I know we all love God and Have his love in us. Your friends and neighbors need the truth, so bring a friend, bring a friend to Christ.
There are many more ways you can get involved and help in our Evangelistic meeting. So, as we rapidly approach these meetings, please be thinking of just how you can get involved, because as Uncle Sam says, “We Need You” or better yet, “Christ Needs You”.
